Welcome to Surviving to Thriving Recovery, a safe and inclusive place to discuss healing and recovery from mental health challenges, eating disorders, and trauma

This blog is run by a Certified Recovery Support Specialist in the state of Connecticut and is meant to be a safe space to discuss all things related to eating disorder, trauma and mental illness recovery. I am a firm believer in everyone deserving access to quality, compassion and affirming mental health care that will aid in their personal healing journey. This means that I believe in the power of informed consensual treatment, trauma informed care and harm reduction. This blog is an inclusive, welcoming and warm environment for anyone in need of a safe online space in their journey to healing and recovery. I encourage people to interact with my posts, share their experiences, ask questions and feel comfortable to open up if you need to. I hope you find this small corner of the internet to be peaceful, helpful, healing and welcoming.

Due to the nature of the blog being an inclusive healing space, bigotry, rude comments and disrespectful behavior towards myself or other individuals will not be tolerated. It's one thing to make a genuine mistake that can be corrected and learned from, that is perfectly okay! But it is unacceptable to go out of your way to make another person feel bad. This is where the line is drawn. This means that political discrimination and violence(against any person of any political belief, regardless of my own beliefs or yours), ableism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, body shaming, ageism, religious discrimination(again, against any religion), or general mean-spirited or cruel comments or behaviors towards others, are not tolerated here and will be promptly addressed. Please note, differences in opinions, culture, or even politics are not inherently "disrespectful". As long as a belief is rooted in a genuine concern for others, and is backed up by logic, that is not the same as simply being a bigot or hateful- this is coming from a disabled, neurodivergent, queer, Latinx, and Christian individual.

Please, understand that we are weaker divided than united. All people of all backgrounds are welcome here, as long as you are kind and respectful.
