Welcome to Surviving to Thriving Recovery, a safe and inclusive place to discuss healing and recovery from mental health challenges, eating disorders, and trauma

This blog is run by a Certified Recovery Support Specialist in the state of Connecticut and is meant to be a safe space to discuss all things related to eating disorder, trauma and mental illness recovery. I am a firm believer in everyone deserving access to quality, compassion and affirming mental health care that will aid in their personal healing journey. This means that I believe in the power of informed consensual treatment, trauma informed care and harm reduction. This blog is an inclusive, welcoming and warm environment for anyone in need of a safe online space in their journey to healing and recovery. I encourage people to interact with my posts, share their experiences, ask questions and feel comfortable to open up if you need to. I hope you find this small corner of the internet to be peaceful, helpful, healing and welcoming. **OPENINGS FOR 1:1 PEER SUPPORT AVAILABLE, SESSIONS BEGIN MID-JULY**

Due to the nature of the blog being an inclusive healing space, bigotry, rude comments and disrespectful behavior towards myself or other individuals will not be tolerated. It's one thing to make a genuine mistake that can be corrected and learned from, that is perfectly okay! But it is unacceptable to go out of your way to make another person feel bad. This is where the line is drawn. Since my blog is geared towards mental health and the inclusion and wellness of marginalized individuals, I am(and the blog) pro-choice, feminist, body positive, survivor centered, LGBTQIA+ affirming, BIPOC allied, accepting of all religions, disability positive, anti-ableist, anti-capitalist, pro-immigration, and anti-coercive treatment.
